We craft solid wood furniture
Available in the following wood types
Oak, birch & ash
At Stolab, we work with solid hardwoods - ash, birch, and oak. Crafting furniture from solid wood requires a high level of skill and expertise, as it is a living material that must be understood and treated with care.
The result is furniture that only becomes more beautiful with age.

Hard, dense and strong
Massive oak
Oak is a hard and durable wood species with a distinct and expressive grain pattern. It is one of the most classic furniture woods in Europe and is frequently used throughout our collections.
Its high density and strength make oak especially durable and resistant to wear over time. In a typical year, around 50% of our oak comes from Sweden. The trees are generally 100–120 years old before they are harvested and transformed into furniture.

Extensive possibilities for surface treatments
Birch
Birch is a light wood species with a grain pattern that can range from completely smooth to richly figured. It is one of the most common types of wood in Sweden and is used in nearly all of our furniture collections.
Birch is moderately hard and resilient, offering extensive possibilities for surface treatments thanks to its smooth, structure-free surface, which makes it ideal for lacquering and painting. More than 75% of our birch comes from Sweden and has grown for 70–80 years before becoming furniture timber.

Hard and resilient
Ash
Ash is a resilient and very hard wood species that can vary in colour from pale yellow to light grey. When treated with lacquer or oil, ash develops a shimmering surface full of character.
Almost all of the ash we use comes from Denmark and has grown for approximately 100 years to achieve the right quality for furniture production.
