Birch
The material
Birch is a light wood species with a grain pattern that can range from completely smooth to richly figured. It is one of the most common types of wood in Sweden and is used in nearly all of our furniture collections. Birch is moderately hard and durable, offering extensive possibilities for surface treatments thanks to its smooth, structure-free surface, which makes it ideal for lacquering and painting. More than 75% of our birch comes from Sweden and has grown for 70–80 years before becoming furniture timber.
Palle is a stool designed by Yngve Ekström in the 1950s, made in solid oak with four stable legs. Soft forms and a generous seat make it equally useful as extra seating at the table, a bedside table, or a step to reach that top shelf. Delivered assembled. Also available in solid birch.
